Custom furniture, made to order

It started with a phone call on a lunch break.

Someone searching for a local furniture maker wanted to stop by our Glen Cove shop in fifteen minutes. We said sure.

When they arrived, the shop was buzzing. Restaurant benches for Brooklyn in progress, a white oak wall unit on another table, the smell of Odie's Oil and sawdust in the air. We looked at samples, talked finishes, and within a few minutes, their idea for a walnut dining table took shape.

You can’t have that conversation in a big box store aisle or scrolling online.

At Sound Designs New York, we build custom furniture for homeowners, designers, and businesses across New York City and Long Island. Live edge dining tables, conference tables, home office desks, bar tops, shelving, and more. Every piece is made to order: your dimensions, your wood species, your finish.

In the city, that's meant a live edge black walnut dining table for an apartment in Tribeca, and a white oak table for the Upper East Side, built in two sections so it would fit in the elevator. In Brooklyn: a walnut bar with a tambour front for a brownstone, solid ash benches and tabletops for psta, and red oak tables and bar tops for Whole Bowl.
