Custom home office desks, made to order
Beautiful grain. Silky texture. Something to admire when your mind wanders on a two-hour Zoom call that could have been an email. (This may or may not have happened to one of us. No further comment.)
At Sound Designs New York, we build custom home office desks for homeowners across Long Island and Greater New York. Every desk is made to order: your dimensions, your wood species, your finish, your cable management.
The Wood
Much of our wood comes off downed trees on the North Shore. The rest is American hardwood from mills we know. Black walnut, white oak, cherry, hard maple. On rare occasions a client asks for mahogany or another exotic species. We can work with those too.
The Expertise
Joel, our resident cabinetmaker, has built workstations for both home and corporate environments. Whether it’s a light-filled apartment on the Upper East Side or a cape in Locust Valley, we’ve done both. We build cabinetry as well as furniture, so a desk can be a desk or it can be the whole wall.
The Finish
Our on-site finisher has been serving New York City and Long Island for years. Any stain, any color, any finish.
Podcast Studio?
We can do that too. We’ve built a custom desk for a podcast studio.
It starts with a conversation about your space, how you work, and what you need. We provide detailed sketches and samples.
You’re welcome to visit our studio in Glen Cove to see the materials in person.
