We’ve recovered giant walnut logs from a health food store parking lot (long story), nature preserves, backyards, and places we’d never have thought to look if we hadn’t driven by at just the right time.

Once we even left a note on a front door in Oyster Bay after the homeowner cut down a giant black willow on the front lawn. It was a beauty. We didn’t get that one. You win some, you lose some.
