Pound Ridge Console Table
2022
Neither snow, nor ice, nor chainsaws will deter us.
In December 2019, this elm almost became firewood. The power company took it down a few blocks from our shop in the Pratt Oval building in Glen Cove because it was interfering with the lines. We connected with the homeowner and got there just moments before a neighbor was about to cut it up. It was a win-win. He took many of the small pieces and we claimed most of the main trunk.
In winter 2022 that trunk became this large console table, delivered to a customer in Pound Ridge, in Westchester. Up a steep and winding driveway in the woods that tested the limits of our delivery vehicle, but we made it, undeterred.
It sits in a home that manages to be modern and traditional at the same time: exposed beams, clean white walls, and a Glen Cove elm.
