Southampton Coffee Table, La Selva

2021

Our first big log took a forklift to get out of the woods.

In March 2018, a storm knocked down trees across the North Shore. A local arboretum let us recover a honey locust that had fallen across a hiking trail, deep in the woods. It was one of the very first logs we ever milled, and we had to hire a tree service to pull it out with a forklift.

The slabs air dried for two years. In 2020 we made this coffee table and named it La Selva, after a Gold Coast estate.

It went to a client in Southampton who became one of our biggest early supporters. One of our first trees, and one of our first believers. We're grateful for both.
